Who We Are
As far as acronyms go this doesn't seem to roll off the tongue. Try it
this way A - CPA - FP. We are an Association of CPA Financial
Planners. Every one of our members holds the exclusive Personal
Financial Specialist (PFS) credential and every one is a Certified
Public Accountant.

Our History
ACPAFP was founded in January, 2003 to assist CPA/PFS
credential holders and the AICPA to promote the PFS credential.
All members of ACPAFP hold the PFS credential.
Shortly after being founded, AICPA Council adopted resolutions for
all the credentials which included specific metrics to be met by
certain deadlines. For example, the PFS credential holders
needed to reach 3600 by July 2006 and this metric was met.
According to the resolutions, the AICPA Board can alone
determine if the PFS and/or other credentials should be
maintained and will look for success of the PFS credential.
ACPAFP is working along side the AICPA to help ensure success
of the PFS credential. Our members are active within the AICPA
participating on the PFP Executive Committee, the PFS Credential
Committee, NAC and PFP conference committees.
